Marine, plant-based and blended: collagen sources explained
What “fish collagen” and “veg collagen” actually mean on a label.
By Montosun editorial team
Collagen is the most common protein in the body. It gives structure to skin, tendons and bones.
Marine (fish) collagen is taken from fish skin or scales. Plants do not contain collagen, so “veg collagen” products contain plant ingredients chosen to support the body’s own collagen production, such as vitamin C and amino acids.
Read the ingredient list to see which kind a product is, especially if you follow a vegetarian diet.
